	Al-Razi University achieves a scientific precedent by leading its students (GDTS) among the top 50 technical projects in the world in the Google Solutions Challenge 2022

In continuation of excellence and leadership, Al-Razi University has achieved a unique scientific precedent on the international, Arab and national levels, as the University Students Project (GDTS) topped the members of the Google Developers Club team among the top 50 technical projects in the world in the 2022 Solutions Challenge competition that Google launches annually.

Where the project was presented among the top 50 projects in the world within 1000 advanced projects, and the project submitted by Al-Razi University students is the only (GDTS) team in Yemen and within only three Arab countries: Yemen, Lebanon and Saudi Arabia.

The university was represented in this competition by the project owners, the student Abdulaziz Al-Ghaili, the student Hisham Al-Olfi, the student Ammar Al-Hajj, and the student Abdullah Al-Olfi from the College of Computer students through the project of inventing a glucose meter for diabetic patients through laser technology instead of the traditional method used globally through the lancing device and slides.

On this occasion, the leadership of the university, represented by Dr. Tariq Al-Nahmi - Chairman of the Board of Trustees, and Dr. Khalil Al-Wajeeh - the President of the University, congratulated the winners of this project, which made the university at the forefront globally, Arab and nationally, as well as all the university’s employees, praising the efforts made by the students, which came as a result of the university’s directions in adopting Creativity and innovation and giving it priority within the plans and achievements of the university.

Dr. Al-Nahmi and Dr. Al-Wajeeh indicated that this distinction represents pride for Yemen and Yemenis and for higher education, especially in light of the extremely difficult and complex conditions that the country and its children are going through due to the aggression and war.

For his part, Dr. Yahya Al-Ashmouri, Dean of the College of Computer and Information Technology, congratulated the winning students and the university leadership for this qualitative achievement, which came as a translation of the college’s mission and direction in bridging the gap between study and labor market skills, which was provided by the College of Computer through apprenticeship programs and directing students to participate in international competitions and participation. In the various global technical platforms, most notably the Google platform and the Google Developers Club, to follow the most prominent modern technologies and develop students' skills through them.

It is worth noting that the mission of the 2022 Solutions Challenge is to find a solution to one or more of the seventeen United Nations Sustainable Development Goals established by the United Nations in 2015, with the support of all 193 Member States of the United Nations, which aims to eradicate poverty and ensure Prosper and protect the planet. Students from different universities around the world participate through their membership in the Google Developer Student Clubs, which are university-based community groups for students interested in Google Developer technologies.
