Today, the Council for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance received Al-Razi University’s request to provide advisory and technical support to ensure the quality of the “pharmacy, nursing, midwifery, medical laboratories, anesthesia, physical therapy, community health, and therapeutic nutrition” programs and qualify them to obtain special program accreditation, in the presence of the Minister of Higher Education and Research. The scholar Hussein Hazeb and his deputy, Dr. Ali Sharaf Al-Din, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Al-Razi University, Dr. Tariq Al-Nahmi, members of the Academic Accreditation Council, the Minister’s advisor Mahmoud Al-Silwi, the President of Al-Razi University Prof. Dr. Khalil Saeed Al-Wajeeh, the university’s deputies and the deans of the colleges.

The President of the Academic Accreditation Council, Dr. Ahmed Al-Haboub, and the President of Al-Razi University, Dr. Khalil Al-Wajih, signed an agreement to submit a written request signed and baptized by the legally authorized official of the university to the Council to provide advisory and technical support to ensure the implementation of the quality of the mentioned programs and their qualification for national “programme” accreditation in preparation for applying for international accreditation .

The agreement includes starting the self-evaluation of the programs in accordance with the document and manual of standards for programmatic accreditation and related forms issued by the Academic Accreditation Council and obligating the university to implement the self-evaluation study methodology during the specified time period, while the council provides technical and advisory support to ensure the quality of the mentioned programs and qualify them for program accreditation.

The Minister of Higher Education praised the steps taken by Al-Razi University in implementing its commitments and commitments to development, modernization, self-evaluation, and the development of strategic plans for the university and its aspiration to become one of the five national universities among the top 100 Arab universities during 2025.

He pointed out that the aggression and siege on Yemen gave the ministry an impetus to reform the conditions of universities and academic programs in accordance with local and international requirements and standards.

Minister Hazeb touched on the academic programs that are unique to Al-Razi University, to meet the requirements of the current situation and the needs of the labor market.. He directed the universities to carry out scientific research that addresses issues of concern to the country, at the forefront are the reasons, motives and ambitions of the aggression against Yemen.

For his part, the Deputy Minister of Higher Education praised the achievements of the university in the process of modernization, academic development, programmatic and infrastructure development, and its future aspirations to obtain national and international academic accreditation.

He considered the steps taken by Yemeni universities in light of the aggression, which would obtain advanced positions in the index of the international rankings of universities and scientific research.

During the handover, in the presence of the Assistant Undersecretary for the Planning Sector, Dr. Ilham Al-Sanabani, the Chairman of the Academic Accreditation Council, Dr. Al-Haboub, and the Secretary-General of the Council, Dr. Muhammad Dhaifallah, pointed out the challenges facing Yemeni universities to achieve global merit in 2023.

They affirmed the Council's commitment to providing technical and advisory support to complete the requirements and required documents and send them to universities, as well as direct field visits to them for training and qualification to reach special accreditation.

For his part, the President of the University, Dr. Khalil Al-Wajeeh, reviewed the university’s steps in the level of performance, quality improvement, developing, updating and describing its academic programs, preparing and implementing the strategic plan and self-evaluation in accordance with the variables and requirements of the national vision.
