Under the patronage of Lieutenant-General Sultan Al-Sama’i, member of the Supreme Political Council, the Ansam Al-Yemen Development Association for Kidney and Kidney Failure and Al-Razi University, represented by the Community Service Unit, organized the International Kidney Day event on March 10 under the slogan (Kidney Health for All - Bridging the Knowledge Gap to Improve Kidney Health).

In the event, which was attended by a member of the Supreme Political Council and President of Al-Razi University, Prof. Dr. Khalil Saeed Al-Wajeeh, the President of the Ansam Al-Yaman Association for Kidney Patients and Kidney Transplanters, Mr. Ammar Al-Qulaisi, the Director of the Community Service Unit M / Amani Ghanima, and a number of academics, university employees and patients with renal failure. He welcomed the attendees, expressing his happiness at attending the event, which cares for an important segment of society and suffers from kidney failure. In his speech, Al-Sami'i touched on the fundamental causes that led to the infection of this disease, which are the toxicities of khat and the poisons related to the cultivation of vegetables and fruits, most of which are Israeli industries that are deliberately brought into the country to kill innocent citizens. His speech called on the concerned authorities to take measures regarding the entry of these pesticides and toxins, in addition to the causes resulting from the aggression against our homeland and our Yemeni people for seven years and the resulting cases of panic and diseases resulting from the bombing of residential neighborhoods and the injury of some to diabetes and kidney failure, and pointed to the effects of the siege The economic situation, the tragic situation, the lack of salaries and the inability of the citizen to buy his needs of medicine.

He made it clear in his speech that all these crimes had no justification or justification other than that the Yemeni people wanted to be independent by their own decision, rejecting subordination to the US-Saudi-British enemy.

At the conclusion of his speech, he praised the steadfastness, pride and fathers of the Yemeni people in the face of the aggression. He also praised Al-Razi University and its students as one of the best private universities in Yemen, calling on businessmen and the private sector to stand and support the centers and associations dealing with kidney disease and renal failure, wishing God Almighty recovery for all those affected by this disease.

For his part, the President of the University gave a welcoming speech at the beginning of the event to the guests attending the event, and pointed out that the world celebrates on the tenth of March of each year the International Day of Kidney and Kidney Failure to ring a bell and alarm for those whom God has decreed for them to carry this great concern and for those who live in high health to appreciate the extent of the blessing which they enjoy.

In his speech, he expressed the university's welcome for the third year in a row in true partnership with Ansam Yemen Association in achieving an important source of awareness of this dangerous disease, which constitutes one of the deadly diseases at the present time.

He pointed out that it is a matter of social responsibility to celebrate the International Day every day, especially in a society where there is a lack of awareness of the dangers of disease and behaviors that make an important difference in human life.

He stressed the importance of agreeing on basic matters that are a joint responsibility between three parties, namely the government side, which must have a real presence and intervention in preventing the sale of medicines and painkillers in groceries, random dispensing of medicines, and legalizing dealing with poisons and deadly pesticides by farmers, taking into account the dangerous periods for those toxins. Noting that Al-Razi University confirms its keenness and interest in this segment, supporting all activities related to it, carrying out its responsibilities in raising awareness of the dangers of the disease and its causes, and helping to provide appropriate treatment for this category.
