“Smoke-Free University” Policy - Razi University

Objective:

Razi University is committed to promoting a healthy university environment by eliminating exposure to tobacco smoke and its harmful effects. This policy comes within the framework of our commitment to the safety of our community and supporting global health goals, especially the third goal of the Sustainable Development Goals (Good Health and Well-being).

Policy Text:

As of now, Razi University is classified as a smoke-free area. Smoking, including the use of cigarettes, electronic cigarettes, vaporizers and any tobacco products, is strictly prohibited in all indoor and outdoor areas, university buildings, vehicles and facilities.

Scope of the Policy:

This policy applies to all students, faculty, staff, contractors, visitors and any other person on campus.

Implementation:

Awareness and Education: Regular educational programs will be provided to increase awareness of the health risks associated with smoking and exposure to smoke.

Signage: Clear “No Smoking” signs will be placed throughout the campus to ensure awareness of the university’s smoke-free policy.

Smoking Cessation Support: The University will provide resources and information about smoking cessation programs and support groups for individuals who wish to stop smoking.

Legal Enforcement:

Non-compliance will be addressed through appropriate disciplinary action, including warnings and possible penalties, in accordance with University regulations.
